Hello! How are you? Where’d you wander in from? I’m so glad that you’re here!
Introductions are such a strange little piece of every day magic. The moment that a stranger goes from a passive interest into a conscious part of your world. Introductions are profound and meaningful and, yet, nothing could be more lighthearted and natural. It’s natural to want to connect. To warmly greet another (especially on the hunch of shared interests). There’s nothing more human than “hello!”
So, hello! I’m Cait and this is A Wild Muse. It’s time I introduce myself.
Who is A Wild Muse?
The woman behind the Wild is myself, Cait Kennedy. Despite spending the bulk of my life doggedly chasing a neat, succinct identity, I have yet to find a means of encompassing myself that neatly fits the confines of a bio. But here are the basics:
I’m a thirty-something Capricorn Sun/Cancer Moon/Cancer Rising.
I live in Austin, Texas with my husband and our very spoiled dog.
I’ve never had a “casual” interest in anything, which has resulted in an education that spans degrees held in political science, gender studies, history, literature, cinema, and law school, and a list of hobbies that includes - but is not limited to - travel, horseback riding, playing a handful of instruments, dancing, performance and singing, painting, and creative writing.
Professionally, I've worked as a film critic, entertainment journalist, brand and content marketer, a brand consultant, and a narrative designer. What I’m really working on is de-centering work as the driving force in my life. Every day, I seek better balance in continuing in professional work that I am proud of, while savoring life at home!

What is A Wild Muse?
One very important identifier that I left out of my spiel is that I’m a writer.
Writing has always been my preferred means of expression. It’s where I process. It’s where I hold meaning and memory. It’s where I love to exchange ideas and feelings. It’s where my soul is most at home.
The idea of starting a personal blog — something separate from the more professional-toned spaces where I also write — was that I desired a place that was as open to possibility as myself. A Wild Muse is equal parts home and lifestyle, personal reflections, meditations on the world around me, and a space to collect whatever feels real and beautiful today.
More importantly. It’s authentic. Expression that is free to let its hair down (A Wild Muse). Now that you’re here, I hope you find a little piece of this “everything” that is just right for you.
Why A Wild Muse?
For you, the reader? I don’t know. If all goes well, maybe this will become a haven for cozy content, thoughtful discussion, inspiration around the home, and a quiet place to rest your eyes in mind on a largely chaotic Internet.
For me: it’s what writing for the online audience was always supposed to be. Brutally honest, a little unpolished, and presented with positive intention and the genuine hope of fostering community.
